direct binding of small molecules to GPCRs
The Center has developed methods for reconstituting membrane receptors as well as automated screening of solubilization conditions.
Recently we developed a new purification method for CCR5 and demonstrated the ability to screen for crystallization conditions (Anal Biochem in press).
Through improved solubilization methods we have been able to monitor the binding of small molecules directly to several GPCRs and demonstrated that the solubilized receptors maintain native ligand binding properties (Anal Biochem, in press).
