Giuseppe Papalia
Postdoctoral Scientist
Dr. Papalia received a Ph.D. degree in Biophysics from the University of Toronto in 2002.
His thesis was comprised of investigating the lectin-binding properties of the cytokine
IL-2 and resolving two exceptionally high-resolution X-ray structures of IL-2. Dr. Papalia
joined the Center in August of 2002.
Currently Dr. Papalia is using the sensor to characterize the
recognition properties of G proteins in an effort to resolve how ligand binding transduces a signal
through the receptor.
He is also carrying out a detailed thermodynamic analysis of a small molecule/enzyme interactions to support lead optimization of a drug.
