sample delivery system

In biacore instruments an auto-sampler is responsible for loading reagents into a micro-fluidic cartridge, similar to an HPLC sample loop, for sample delivery.

Samples are injected over the biosensor surface contained in a flow cell. Low volume flow cells (25 pL) allow for rapid exchange between reagents and buffers, as well as to minimize sample depletion during a reaction.
