Biacore 3000 is used to study lower molecular weight analytes such as peptides and small molecules, as well as macromolecular interactions.

While similar in design to the 2000 series, 3000 platforms have: higher sensitivity – improving data quality, increased dynamic range - allowing analysis in high refractive index buffers such as DMSO or glycerol, and smaller flow cells – increasing the transport rate of analyte to the surface.
