Specific tubes and plates are required for submission of samples for DNA Sequencing.
The Core will retain a stock of those supplies available for users to purchase.
Users are also welcome to order the items directly from the distributer.
How to purchase
- Log in to Main Core System (the old system). Go to Lab Supplies under the DNA Sequencing & Robotics services.
- Select the items you want and submit your purchase. Your account will be billed automatically at the end of the month.
- Print a copy of the request confirmation and bring it to the Core Lab and we will hand you the items you need.
Upper Campus users, please come to the Facility.
Lower Campus users please email us or call 5-2977 if you want supplies brought to the South Biology dropbox. For large orders please come to the Core Lab.
Outiside customers please us at (801) 585-2877 and we'll ship them to you.

We are selling these supplies at cost...actually we might be loosing money if you count shipping.
What we recommend is for labs to have some of the LoboRacks, which are specific for the Micronic tubes and than buy the bags or tubes and caps in bulk to save money. The tubes also seem to fit nicely on some types of empty 200ul pipette tip racks.

- Tubes - 0.75 ml Non-coded, V-bottom Micronic Tubes.
They fit in a specific 96 micronic rack (Loborack) that follows the standard SBS format.
Some empty 200ul pipette tip boxes also can fit the tubes!
- Caps - Micronic TPE Split Capband 8: a retaining film holds 96 fixed caps that can be teared off in strip of 8. The caps are pre-split and can be easily pearced through with a pipette tip.
- Tube Labels - Tough-Tags TTSW-2240.
- Plates - Axygen full-skirt 96 well 0.2 ml PCR Plate.
