High Throughput SNP Genotyping

We offer medium to high throughput SNP Genotyping using the Illumina BeadXpress Station instrument couple with the GoldenGate assay technology.
Custom selected SNPs can be multiplex at 96 or 384 level and used to interrogate from a few dozen to a few thousand samples. Accuracy and reliability for the assays are above 99%. All we need from you is genomic DNA and a list of genes, SNPs or the region of interest!

Pricing

The price for GoldenGate SNP genotyping can vary from 7 cents per genotype to $1 or more depending on the number of samples and the level of multiplexing for the project.
Illumina designs the probes for the assays at 96-plex or 384-plex and reagents must be purchased for a minimum of 480 samples. While you don't need to have 480, it will lower your price per genotype if you do.
Also, if your number of SNPs between 96 and 384, or more than 384, a combination of different mutiplex batches can be used to provide you with the best total cost.
If you want to genotype much less than 96 SNPs, you should consider Taqman Assays as an alternative.

Price Calculator
We have put together an Excel spreadsheet to help you calculate the cost of your SNP genotyping project when using BeadXpress. Download the BeadXpress Price Calculator here.

Where to Start?

  1. First we need to select the SNPs for the assay. You need to provide us with a list of SNPs, genes, regions or sequences of interest.
  2. Illumina will than manufacture the multiplex probe sets. That may take up to two months.
  3. Bring or send us genomic DNA in 96-well plate format and we will run the assays.
  4. We will provide you will you with genotyping result charts for all your samples.
